Class: Steeking Technique Workshop

6 items left

GASP! Cut my knitting?! Yes! Steeking is another great technique to have under your belt as you grow your knitting skills. Whether you’re knitting colorwork in the round, then steeking your sweater into a cardigan, avoiding tight- circumference sleeves, or simply change your mind about a sweater you’ve knit, this workshop will build your courage and confidence to take scissors to that precious work! In this workshop we’ll be talking about all things
steeking, you’ll see samples, and actually cut your own work.

HOMEWORK: Please bring to class a small stockinette tube (about
4” in height – think of a coffee koozie) knit from worsted weight wool yarn that you are willing to cut. A more rustic wool will work best for steeking, please note that smooth yarns are not recommended.

● Skill level: adventurous beginner and beyond (please note this class is not appropriate for true novices)
● Topics taught in class: steeking
Materials required: stockinette tube, additional worsted weight yarn, crochet hook, knitting needles you used for the tube, scissors, clasping stitch markers
● Pattern: provided by instructor
