Meet Hudson+West Forge! This yarn is made from a heathered blend of 70% U.S. Merino (sourced in Colorado and New Mexico), and 30% U.S. Corriedale (sourced in New York) wool. Weld is a well-balanced three-ply yarn, with a slightly more energetic twist for strength and durability. It has a beautiful balance of stitch definition, bounce, and wooly, cohesive bloom cohesive bloom that produces both beautiful stockinette fabrics and delicate lace, texture, and brioche, and is perfect for stranded color work. Weld blooms beautifully and easily knits up on larger needles; recommended on anywhere from a US 3 to a US 6 (3.25 to 4.00 mm), depending on the application.
Forge is spun at Mountain Meadow Wool in Buffalo, Wyoming, and dyed at Ultimate Textile in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. Read more about how Forge is made and sourced.
