Date: Thursday, January 16 and 23, 2020
Time: 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Level: Skill Level: All skill levels
Instructor: Hadley Mendoza Miklos

Stretch your skills with this stylish and aptly named beanie! Fun to make and iconic to wear, the January Hat combines the flair and interest of cables with a classic winter-wear aesthetic. Best of all, your friends will be so impressed when you tell them you’ve made it yourself! In class we will cover charts as well as the full range of cable techniques to create your new favorite accessory. In order to maximize class time, students are encouraged to start the ribbing of the hat at home and come ready to begin the cable chart.

  • Meets 2 sessions, 2 hours each session
  •  Skill level: adventurous beginner and beyond (students should be comfortable knitting, purling, reading patterns, and working in the round)
  • Topics taught in class: cables (charted and written), cabling without a cable needle, bobbles, basic hat construction

Materials: printed pattern, yarn and needles to meet gauge (see pattern for information), pattern, cable needle, stitch markers, post it notes or highlighter tape, tapestry needle to weave in ends

Yarn:
We would appreciate if yarn used for our classes is not brought from a different shop. (This is not a "rule" - just a preference.) We have a range of weights of yarn to choose from. Come early to shop!
