Join us through a little time warp back to one of Stephen West’s earliest and most iconic designs: the Herbivore. This classic but unique design is more interesting than a scarf, but simpler than a true lace shawl, featuring interesting organic shaping. This pattern looks great in loud or quiet yarn, and is a great next step in your knitting journey.
Students should be comfortable knitting and following written directions before taking this class. Gauge is not critical, but it will impact the final size of the shawl.
Skill level: adventurous beginner and beyond
- Topics taught in class: twisted stitches, basic finishing and care
- Materials: 700 yds sport weight yarn and US 6, 40" circular needles, pattern, 12 stitch markers, method for tracking rows

We ask that you purchase materials for the class from our shop. You will receive a 10% discount on your materials for class as well as on purchases made the day of class.
For refund of class fees, we require 24 hours notice of cancellation before the date of the class.
