Fyberspates Cumulus is a lace weight baby suri alpaca and silk yarn. We love the saturated colors in this line, and Cumulus is also a perfect alternative for those who are sensitive to mohair. Extraordinarily soft baby suri alpaca creates a soft halo without the itch some mohair yarns tend to have. A delight to knit or crochet with!
Similar to another shop favorite, Lamana Premia, Cumulus is lovely in a lace pattern like the Arvia Shawl by Anna Nikipirowicz, or held double in a project like the Cloud Blouse by Petiteknit.

I love this color mixed with a darker yarn. It’s easy to work with.
Softest yarn in the world, doesn’t itch like most mohairs
On a whim I decided to makes a sweater that called for lace weight yarn containing mohair so it had a nice halo. I don't care for the feel of mohair so I was thrilled to find Cumulus in stock in this gorgeous purple. The halo is lovely and the alpaca is much softer on my skin than mohair. I'm still swatching, can't wait to get started on the sweater for real!
My first time buying and using this type of yarn. Very lovely. Cant wait to get more.
Beautiful light weight yarn. Gorgeous combined with DK.

Alpaca provides a slightly tighter halo than mohair, and is often used as an alternative to mohair for its softness! Fiber from an alpaca is made up of more curled strands, while mohair, from the Angora goat, is made up of straighter strands. For those without mohair sensitivities, both of these fibers are incredibly soft, but the suri alpaca’s texture is often much more comfortable close to skin for those who find mohair itchy. Baby suri alpaca is the softest batch of the suri alpaca fiber, spun from the first shearing of a suri alpaca.
Cumulus is one of several strands (and one of many recommended yarns) in the Loupy Stripe Cardi by Loupy Studios
Cumulus adds fluff to a cute accessory like the Boulevard Bag by Lily Kate Makes
A lace shawl designed with and inspired by Cumulus itself, the Cumulus Cloud by Artqualia Designs
Yes, holding Fyberspates Cumulus alongside another yarn can add fluff and shine to your project. Held double, yarns like this that combine alpaca or mohair and silk are often chosen to make a DK weight gauge in patterns like the Cloud Blouse by Petiteknit.
The fuzzy halo that forms (thanks to the baby suri alpaca fiber) in Fyberspates Cumulus insulates well without excess weight, making for a beautifully light and warm layer when making a sweater or shawl!

Making a second toddler sweater from the Apricot kit pattern. Yarn is great to work with!
Fun yarn, the colors kept popping up as I progressed. Perfect for Dia de Los Muertos using the Baah Black Pearl and the Coastal Sage pattern.
I love the boxy style and sturdy handles of this tote. So versatile!
Love the color and the texture of the yarn! Can’t wait to crochet with it…
