What is Illimani Sabri II best for?

Sabri II loves double duty. Knit at a looser, open gauge it makes lovely summer garments and shawls, while a tighter gauge turns it into cardigans, sweaters, tops, and neckwear. You will find it alongside our other Illimani Yarn .

How much yarn do I need for a project?

Each skein holds 218 yards. A shawl or open work summer top often uses 2 to 3 skeins, while a tighter gauge cardigan or sweater may call for 5 to 8 depending on size, so we are glad to help you plan for your pattern.

What fiber is it, and where does it come from?

It is 85% organic cotton and 15% baby alpaca, both GOTS certified organic, the same blend as our Illimani Sabri, but spun as a worsted weight chainette. The natural grey shades come from a melange of the cotton with a rare natural black alpaca fiber.

How do I care for it?

Hand wash and lay flat to dry, gentle care that protects the chainette construction and keeps the loft soft.

What is the difference between Sabri and Sabri II?

Sabri II shares the same fiber blend as our original Sabri , but it is spun as a worsted weight chainette rather than a standard fingering weight yarn, so it knits up faster and has an airier loft. Reach for Sabri II when your pattern calls for worsted weight, and Sabri for fingering.
