What does the D mean on some of the colors?

A D in the color name indicates the yarn was dyed to produce that color. Sabri is available in undyed, natural colors of the original fiber as well as dyed colors.

What does the alpaca add to a cotton yarn?

Softness and a little lift. Cotton on its own can feel flat and sit heavily in a garment. The 15% baby alpaca gives it a gentle halo and takes the edge off, while the 85% organic cotton keeps the breathability and the crisp stitch definition. It is a good middle ground if pure cotton feels too stiff and pure alpaca feels too warm.

What can I make with it?

Sabri is beautiful for tops such as the Cumulus Top, Soho Top, and any fingering weight shawls with texture stitches.

How much yarn do I need?

Referencing your pattern and your desired size & gauge is the best way to ensure you will have enough yarn! For a general example, crocheting the Beach Cottage Shawl calls for 600-800yd of a fingering weight yarn, or two skeins of Illimani Sabri.

How do I wash it?

To wash Sabri, hand wash with a no-rinse or gentle wash, remove excess water by rolling your project in a towel with gentle pressure, and lay flat to dry. If blocking, pin your project to your desired measurements while damp, and allow ample time to dry.
