    Quince & Co. Osprey is a cushy, comfy, aran weight wool yarn. With its relaxed twist, Osprey has a soft and fluid handfeel, and an airy feel unique for an aran weight yarn. Osprey is a great choice for quick knits in textured patterns or for bold and eye-catching colorwork.

    What can I make with Quince & Co Osprey?

    Osprey is a heavy worsted to aran weight 100% American wool, so it is great for warm, quick projects: cozy sweaters, hats, mittens, and blankets. It works up fast and holds beautiful stitch definition for cables and texture.

    Make a matching pair of super simple crochet ribbed accessories, the Nocturnal Hat + Mitts by Elizabeth Smith Knits.

    How much yarn do I need for a sweater?

    Referencing your pattern and your desired size & gauge is the best way to ensure you will have enough yarn! For a general example, knitting size M2 of the Homebody Sweater by Heidi Kirrmaier calls for 950yd of an aran weight yarn, or six skeins of Osprey.

    Where does the wool come from?

    How do I wash it?

    To wash Osprey, hand wash with a no-rinse or gentle wash, remove excess water by rolling your project in a towel with gentle pressure, and lay flat to dry. If blocking, pin your project to your desired measurements while damp, and allow ample time to dry.

    What needle size does it use?

    The recommended needle size range for Osprey is US 9 - 11, or 5.5mm - 8mm.
