    About this yarn

Juniper Moon Farm Bud is a bulky weight cotton yarn with a playful texture. The unique core-spun construction creates a delightfully nubby feel, adding an extra dimension of interest to your finished fabric. We love this yarn for its unique look and its 100% GOTS certified organic cotton fiber.

Bud is currently knit as a shop sample of our Cape May Blanket, also available as a kit using Appalachian Baby Chunky Cotton, our other bulky weight cotton yarn!

    Frequently Asked Questions

Have more questions? Visit our contact page and we will help you choose.

What can I make with cotton yarn like Juniper Moon Farm Bud?

    Cape May Blanket

The Field Blanket, a striped baby blanket and another one of our shop patterns.

Juniper Moon Farm Bud is one of a few suggested yarns for Interlinked, a crochet cowl.

Is cotton yarn good for baby blankets?

Yes! This is a favorite for baby blankets in the shop, including our Cape May Blanket. It works great for blankets that are still useful in warm San Diego weather, and is incredibly easy to care for. Bud is machine wash and dry-able for parents who need an easy-care baby blanket.

    Does cotton yarn shrink?

Like in your favorite cotton tee, a cotton fabric knit or crocheted with Juniper Moon Farm Bud can shrink slightly on its first wash in warm water or its first time in the dryer, but not unpredictably so. If you’d like your project to stick to an exact measurement, we recommend blocking and laying your project flat to dry.

    Is it good for summer?

Yes! Cotton is a favorite fiber for summer and hot weather garments and accessories. Made from 100% cotton, Bud is both soft and sturdy, and works great for accessories like bags and baby hats to be used and worn in the summertime and year-round.
