Seven Oaks Ranch Alpaca yarn is locally grown in San Diego County. We love its undyed, natural colors as well as the weight and drape created when knit. Since 2018, we have purchased this beautiful small batch yarn from Seven Oaks Ranch, located in Jamul, CA, a short drive from our Liberty Station shop. Each year the fleece is trimmed in April and sent to be milled in Colorado. We are always excited to get the word that this year's yarn is ready. The animals are raised using organic feed and tender care.
Each purchase donates a percentage to San Diego Humane Society as a thank you for offering protection to the animals during wild fires.
We feature shop patterns and kits for this yarn including The Rancher Hat and Alpaca Shawl Kit

I loved working with this soft pliable alpaca. Part of the charm of this undyed yarn was finding tiny specks of dried bush in the spin so I knew it was the real deal. The sweater I made was a complicated gansey and my struggles of learning some new techniques were well rewarded by the pleasure of working with this wonderful yarn.
I enjoyed working with this Malabrigo yarn. I crocheted a beanie as requested by my granddaughter. I normally knit but this was a special request. The cap turned out beautiful, comfy and feels wonderful.
I’m using this yarn for the American afghan pattern. It’s perfect for this project.
I have several Lykke small circulars as well as both the 3” and 5or 6 inch tip interchangeable Lykke sets. I love how much easier wood needles are on my hands when knitting…except for sticky yarns and then I have to switch to my metal Chiaogoo needles. I’m about to start a two color brioche class to learn brioche knitting and the yarn is superwash Merino (perfect wood needle yarn) and the two patterns call for 9” circs plus a larger circ (I have the larger in my Lykke sets) and double pointed needles. I don’t have any Lykke DPNs so I ordered the 9” circ and the DPNs in the “supposed” size will need. Let’s hope I get gauge on them or I’ll be buying one more size up or down, right?
I’m giving 5 stars ahead of time then, because I love all my other Lykke’s and I use them for everything but my Shetland wool yarns. I highly recommend the sets. You can get extra cords in any length to use with them. I have the two sets because I often have more than one project going needing the same size needle although I’ve also bought extra tips in my most used sizes. I tend to gravitate to the 3” tips most often.
Great
EXCELLENT MATERIAL!
