Wood Smoke Beanie Pattern

The Wood Smoke Beanie pattern was created to feature the long colors changes of Junction Fiber Mill's Making Tracks Yarn. Pattern designed for Apricot Yarn & Supply by Sara Heckman

This beanie is worked flat in garter stitch and includes an i-cord edge that is worked as you make the hat. The hat is made using short row wedges and wrap and turn short rows. The hat needs to be seamed at the end. You can adjust the circumference of the hat by adding or subtracting wedges. You can increase or decrease the height of the hat by casting on more or fewer stitches.

This hat pattern includes a long or short version and three sizes for child, adult, and adult XL. This pattern requires up to 250 yards of DK or light worsted weight yarn.

• Yarn: one skein of Junction Fiber Mill Making Tracks or 210 yards heavy DK weight yarn
• Tools: US 5 needle, tapestry needle
• Gauge: 20 sts and 40 rows = 4 inches in garter stitch, unblocked
• Finished measurement before blocking: 18 inches long by 10.75 inches tallTo make a larger hat, you can add wedges. You will need more yarn to do this.
  Two lengths: short 8”, (long)10”
  Child: 6 wedges, 210 yards
  Adult: 7 wedges, 210 yards
  Adult Xl” 8 wedges, 250 yards
