What is a Yarn Crawl?

A Yarn Crawl is a local or regional collaborative event among local yarn shops and other yarn-related groups (such as farms & ranches). These multi-day events - which are held annually all across America - provide an opportunity for a self-guided tour of all that the yarn and fiber arts community has to offer. It's a celebration of all things yarn & community!

The 2025 San Diego Yarn Crawl

The 2025 edition of the San Diego Yarn Crawl will feature 6 unique stops - including shops, farms, and a weaving studio. Each participating location is committed to offering curated activities and holding special events that you won't want to miss. Some events will be the entire week, and others on specific days. See below for all our scheduled events, trunk shows, make & takes, special guests, and much more. And don't forget to download your passport and map!

: Kelbourne Woolens will have a crochet display using Kelbourne Woolens Germantown DK.
: Leslie of Lazer Sheep will host a pop up shop featuring yarn, stickers, and pins!
: Baa Baa Bulky will have a color trunk show with Ewe Ewe Yarns for both knit and crochet yarns!
: Our debut of Hue Loco's Desert Color Collection in the shop, available in individual skeins & sock sets.
: This pop up features locally grown fiber from Seven Oaks Ranch, WW Ranch, and Deer Valley Farms - displaying yarn, samples, and kits!

Special Guests

Friday, September 26 at 10am-2pm

Leslie, owner of Lazer Sheep Yarns, will be in-store to meet you, and talk about her yarn we sell.

Saturday, September 27 at 10am-3pm

Heather, owner of Ewe Ewe Yarns will be in shop to answer questions about her product line.

Sunday, Sept 28, 10am-2pm

Yarn Spinning Demo

The local San Diego County Spinners group will visit the shop and demonstrate live yarn spinning in the arcade. This is a great chance to learn and see how the natural fibers are turned into usable yarn for knitting and crochet. The San Diego County Spinners are also happy to answer any questions, and take on new members - learn more here.

Event Passport

Present the printed San Diego Yarn Crawl Passport at each participating venue you visit to receive that location's stamp.
Leave your passport at your last stop. With 3 or more stamps, your passport will be entered in that location's drawing for a chance to win a prize.
Crawlers receive a stamp from each participating location. If you visit EVERY location, turn in your passport at your last stop to be entered to win the Grand Prize, a $50 gift certificate to each location with a total value of $300!
