A Yarn Crawl is a local or regional collaborative event among local yarn shops and other yarn-related groups (such as farms & ranches). These multi-day events - which are held annually all across America - provide an opportunity for a self-guided tour of all that the yarn and fiber arts community has to offer. It's a celebration of all things yarn & community!
Each participating location is committed to offering unique activities and holding special events that you won't want to miss! Some events will be the entire week, and others on specific days. We will have more on scheduled events, trunk shows, make & takes, and much more.
We will be featuring beautiful small accessory samples, all created with the Sami and Marla lines from Manos Del Uruguay. This brand is loved in the shop, and their story is inspiring. In 1968 five friends, Olga Pardo Santayana de Artagaveytia, Sara Beisso de Souza, Dora Muñoz de Cibils, María del Carmen Bocking and Manila Chaneton de Vivo shared their concern for the hard life and lack of opportunities of rural women in Uruguay. With the aid of social workers they committed to give local women the necessary tools to organize the production, administrate the cooperatives and produce natural fiber yarns for sale around the world.
We will be displaying 10 amazing sweaters that use the Cocoknits Sweater Method (for which we offer classes!) "This method uses top-down knitting that incorporates increases at specific intervals to create truly 3 dimensional shaping that doesn’t require seaming when you’re done. The neck, shoulders, and yoke are created together, so the shaping is softly sloped to hug the body in a flattering way, rather than squared pieces sewn together which turns out too boxy."
Saturday, Sept 28, 10am-4pm

This way of life feeds our souls and brings us happiness. We strive to be self-sufficient, organic, and lead a sustainable way of life for our family and our animals."
