Yes! Our Cape May Blanket is a shop favorite knit from this yarn, and Appalachian Baby Chunky Cotton has been used for many different baby blankets and accessories. Any parent will thank you for the machine washable & dryable fabric knit or crocheted from this 100% organic cotton yarn!
Like in your favorite cotton tee, a cotton fabric knit or crocheted with Juniper Moon Farm Bud can shrink slightly on its first wash in warm water or its first time in the dryer, but not unpredictably so. If you’d like your project to stick to an exact measurement, we recommend blocking and laying your project flat to dry.
Referencing your pattern and your desired size & gauge is the best way to ensure you will have enough yarn! For example, our Cape May Blanket pattern provides different amounts for three different sizes of blanket you can make with the same stitch pattern.
We always recommend Ravelry as an all-encompassing pattern database in the shop. Many patterns on Ravelry estimate the yarn amount you will need for the size you are looking to make, but at Apricot Yarn & Supply, we can always offer advice if your pattern is unclear, you are working freehand, or something else!
Absolutely. It is lovely in a chunky shawl, a quick cardigan, or a market bag, anywhere you want cotton structure and a fast finish. Sara made an Emma Version C Cardigan by Julie Weisenberger using this yarn. It worked up quickly on size US 11 needles, and you may have seen it in the shop as a sample!
Yes! The organic cotton in this yarn is sourced from a group of around forty family farms in Texas, then travels to North Carolina to be spun at a third generation family cotton mill. Some skeins are left undyed, as like Appalachian Baby’s Chunky Cotton, and others are dyed using a low-impact dyeing process. The finished yarn is OEKO-TEX and GOTS certified. Attentive staff! No question is silly. These women know their yarn and their knitting 🧶 and are super helpful when you ask.
What a nice sturdy, big tote. Love the art design on it as well. Plenty of space for my yarn goodie’s.
Holiday sock project. Colors are same as website photo! Can’t wait to start knitting!
Making a second toddler sweater from the Apricot kit pattern. Yarn is great to work with!
