100% Wool, 421 yards
Rosa Pomar Mondim is a fingering weight yarn made from fine Portuguese wool, named after a Portuguese village once famous for its sock knitting cottage industry. With a smooth twist, this 100% wool yarn provides crisp stitch definition and, though inspired by sock knitters, works up beautifully in sweaters, shawls, and other larger projects.
Sara loved using Rosa Pomar Mondim for her blue and white multicolor Beach Cottage Shawl, one of our two shop exclusive patterns for the 2025 San Diego Yarn Crawl.
Orders ship in 2 to 3 business days. Shipping is free on orders of $75 or more within the U.S.
Vovo’s little sister! Great yarn
An absolutely stunning yarn to knit with! Mondim is springy, soft, and has a slight fuzzy halo. The yarn feels sturdy but is still so pleasant to knit with. Anyone who appreciates a slightly rustic non-superwash will probably enjoy working with Mondim.
Love the yarn and the employees are so kind and helpful
I love this yarn! As a I am a beginner, it is easy to work with and creates a lovely patterning on my socks with the soft shades of blue and green.
I expect this strong yarn to work well for socks

Use Mondim to create crisp stitch definition in texture work, like in the Camp Waffle Sock by Hannah Park.
The Sheep Sweater by Rosa Pomar is a gorgeous colorwork design that will work up wonderfully in Mondim.
Rosa Pomar Mondim is made from a non-superwash, fine Portuguese wool. Most batches of Mondim are exclusively made from the wool of native Campaniça sheep, whose fiber creates a slightly rustic, smooth texture.
Referencing your pattern and your desired size & gauge is the best way to ensure you will have enough yarn! For a general example, knitting a pair of Vanilla Bean Socks by Crazy Sock Lady Designs calls for 400 - 463yd of a fingering weight yarn. One skein should be enough for a small or medium size, but you may need an additional to make the largest size.
Mondim is made from non-superwash wool in a tight twist, giving it both the benefits of a rustic feel and a smooth finish: crisp stitch definition and structure! It blooms and softens nicely with a gentle hand wash and block.

What a nice sturdy, big tote. Love the art design on it as well. Plenty of space for my yarn goodie’s.
