Superwash Merino / Easy Wash Alpaca, 201 yards
Say hello to Kelbourne Woolens Cozy, a light worsted weight yarn created with comfort and ease in mind. Made from Superwash Merino and sustainable Easy Wash® Alpaca, Cozy lives up to its name! Kelbourne woolens called it “the ‘cashmere sweatpants’ line throughout the design process… casual and comfortable, yet indulgent in a way that makes you feel amazing with minimal effort.” This yarn is super soft and durable, and wonderfully squishy in sweaters, hats, and other accessories.
Cozy is one of several Kelbourne Woolens yarns that we carry. For a similarly soft and smooth fingering weight, see Perennial. For a non-superwash wool option in a similar weight, try Scout or Germantown DK. For all our Kelbourne Woolens options, view the Kelbourne Woolens Collection here.
Orders ship in 2 to 3 business days. Shipping is free on orders of $75 or more within the U.S.
Used for a colorwork hat. Nice stitch definition and very soft.
love this yarn so much!

Cozy is an alpaca and wool blend in a DK weight, so it is lovely for sweaters, cardigans, hats, and cowls that feel soft and warm. The alpaca gives it a gentle halo and extra warmth.
For a cute & easy-wash kids sweater, try the Baby Loon Sweater by CM Knits with a repeating colorwork motif.
Cozy is great for a super soft hat. Try Purl Soho’s free pattern, the Classic Ribbed Hat.
Make an extra cozy classic, the Sophie Scarf by Petiteknit.
Yes! The combination of superwash merino and Easy Wash® Alpaca is meant to resist felting or warping during machine wash. Use a gentle cycle and cold water for the lowest risk of unwanted shrinkage, to be safe. Superwash wool is better at resisting felting, but not always immune to it, so we recommend laying your superwash wool pieces flat to dry.
Yes, and yes! Kelbourne Woolens calls this line their “cashmere sweatpants” of their designs. It’s luxurious and soft, but easy to wear and wash in everyday pieces.
Referencing your pattern and your desired size & gauge is the best way to ensure you will have enough yarn! For a general example, knitting an adult M of the Flax worsted sweater by Tin Can Knits calls for 1160yd of a worsted weight yarn, or six skeins of Kelbourne Woolens Cozy.
We always recommend Ravelry as an all-encompassing pattern database in the shop. Many patterns on Ravelry estimate the yarn amount you will need for the size you are looking to make, but at Apricot Yarn & Supply, we can always offer advice if your pattern is unclear, you are working freehand, or something else!
Cozy is a light worsted weight yarn, and we often treat it as a DK weight. However, in our shop, we have seen knitters and crocheters substituting Cozy in for their pattern of choice as sometimes a DK weight and sometimes a worsted weight. Matching gauge is the most important part of making sure a garment fits right, so we recommend making a gauge swatch if you are unsure!

Fun yarn, the colors kept popping up as I progressed. Perfect for Dia de Los Muertos using the Baah Black Pearl and the Coastal Sage pattern.
I love the boxy style and sturdy handles of this tote. So versatile!
Love the color and the texture of the yarn! Can’t wait to crochet with it…
